That Crafty Dragonne – Tile Artwork

This is a wonderful site that you must check out.  My nephew and his wife are some very talented folks that take your artwork, a favorite photograph, or choose from their many images available to put on simulated tile to create a real work of art.  Check out the introduction below and a sample image from their process.

That Crafty Dragonne by Michael and Dorthea Gilbreath

We create simulated ceramic tile artwork from prints of all sizes.   The difference is that it is all done on a purely wood based backing!  The finished pictures have the feel and look of ceramic tile without the weight or fragility of ceramic.   These versatile works of art come in a beautifully hand cut frame so they can be hung just like a picture.   The print is protected by the resin coating giving it a resilient shine!   We also create custom pieces that can be used as kitchen or bathroom backsplash, coasters, or tabletop inserts.  Truly, we have only just begun to explore the possibilities of this form of artwork.

You can see their work at the WSU Mom’s Weekend Craft Fair at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman, WA on the following dates:

 Apr 12th – 10am to 9pm
 Apr 13th – 9am to 4pm

Michael and Dorthea created a work of art for us out of one of our images.  I will post that on a follow up post.  You must check out their site for further details of their process.  They can create custom tile artwork for you as well but be prepared these cost more to ship than your average print but it is well worht it!

Fine Art Prints from Yvonne Ayoub

Yvonne has a wonderful eye for the arts and lives in a very beautiful part of the world where inspiration comes abundant.  She is so talented creating works of art in many different mediums such as pastels, pen and ink, digital art and photography.  Yvonne’s work caught my eye and we quickly became friends.  She has been very helpful in our quest to get our work published and more recognized.

Yvonne Ayoub

Yvonne’s Bio:

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, of Austrian and English descent, Yvonne Ayoub is
classically trained in the Visual, Performing and Creative Arts.

After a successful career as a ballet dancer, performing on stage & television and teaching dance for many years, she, with her Lebanese husband, built and ran a successful, London-based Print and Design company, while raising their two children. Having travelled extensively since childhood, the one constant in her life, from her earliest years, has been her passion for painting and drawing.

Today, as full-time established artist, illustrator, muralist and photographer, Yvonne works mostly to commission, in a wide variety of media, using a broad range of artistic disciplines. With her imaginative use of colour and keen observation skills, she seeks in her work to reflect and promote the rich diversity of the many fascinating cultures she has experienced throughout the wider global community. Constantly seeking artistic inspiration, Yvonne now divides her time between her homes in central London and the beautiful island of Skiathos, Greece.
